The members of Strike Zone are first and foremost music fans of the harder and heavier rock in the classic 70s, 80s, and early 90s style. As many music fans do, they also dabble in various instruments and song creation as their main personal hobbies. So, naturally, when that happens, you create a band if you meet others with similar tastes, right?
The brothers Goeldner, obviously had been playing together for many years. Andrew and Matt then met through work and their common love for music. For years they had various lineups that basically wrote songs and practiced together but never completely gelled or made any public appearance. In about 2001 Nicole joined the lineup to be the bassist. She was a coworker with Jeff and heard some of his personal demos and asked if he would be interested in checking things out as a singer for their band (the lone missing piece). Not thinking of himself as a true singer and more of a guitarist who sings, reluctantly... Jeff still was intrigued enough to give things a shot. So, late 2002 Strike Zone was born melding some of Jeff's songs and style into the songs and ideas the others had already built up. Draw the Line was completely written musically and lyrically prior to Jeff joining. This Time Aint No Different was a meld of a prior song with some new passages and new lyrics created by Jeff. I Cant Go ..ed by the excellent keyboard passages created by Matt and was fleshed out in bridge and chorus by Jeff with lyrics written by Jeff directly from a short story written by Andy. 2002 and 2003 were a very creative time as many existing and new ideas were smoothed and formed by the band.
In early 2003, Strike Zone submitted demos for a Local Musicians Showcase through Cascio Interstate Music in New Berlin, WI. The band was chosen as one of 10 bands for that showcase event. Strike Zone's first live appearance was at that event. Shortly thereafter the band made a small appearance at The Rock Shop in West Allis. All of the members have 'day jobs' and various complexities that preclude the band from actively pursuing a real career in music. Thus, the entire band experience has been more about the music and just enjoying the whole creative process and playing. Around late 2003, both Nicole and Matt left due to personal circumstances making it difficult for them to continue.
Since 2004 Andrew, Jeff, and Bill had been just enjoying the occasional semi-monthly practices and working on arrangements to songs to fit the skills and limitations (no keyboards) of the new lineup with Bill on bass and Jeff handling all guitars.
In 2006 Strike Zone welcomed Mike into the fold as the new bassist -- instantly upgrading the sound. The focus then became practicing to be ready to play out again. This culminated in signing up for the 2007 Emergenza festival... next show, for Strike Zone, April 20, 2007 at Vnuk's Lounge in Cudahy. Strike Zone has recorded more demos, added a couple new original songs to the mix, and even created a little studio live DVD, a sample of which is found below. This year, Strike Zone hopes to get out and make some new fans... Please come support the band as they hope to move through the stages of the Emergenza festival!

Influences: Ranging from 70's to 80's, from soft to heavy, from slow to fast. We like to keep things simple yet eccentric with a steady pace of drawn out upbeats that will sooth yet destroy your train of thought.KISS, Queensryche, Judas Priest, Motley Crue, Twisted Sister, Megadeth, Dream Theater, Loverboy, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, etc.

Sounds Like: Relentless, Identity Unknown (Jeff's prior recorded work)... otherwise, you tell us... feels odd to say we compare to any particular band. We just are what we are... we have never tried to be anything in particular... we just let the songs come to us (as we write them) and flavor them with our individual musical playing styles.

Streams... CDs... and MP3s...

Just a friendly reminder... CDs sound good.... MP3s sound ok.... Streaming generally SUCKS.  So, if you come to our page and want to give our songs a listen... rather than playing them streaming....
