THANKS
TO YOU
A universal thankyou goes out to all the artists, producers, Dj’s, promoters and heads involved within the D&B scene who make it what it is today. Many of whom dedicate a large amount of soul* and don’t generally receive the recognition that they truely deserve.
The one thing that I try to remember is that everybody involved contributes in their own way and on their own scale. Whether it’s a little, as opposed to a lot... every piece of the puzzle goes towards creating the bigger picture, i.e. the Drum & Bass scene as a whole.
I’ve continually bought records since ’93/'94 and it always made me laugh when I heard certain people saying that D&B was dead ! Over the years I’ve heard that said enough.
In fact, if anything, I thought it was quite the opposite. With every year that passed it seemed to go from strength to strength... and now more than ever it’s at its strongest ! Yeah, it is fair to mention that throughout its history D&B has experienced lulls in its popularity.
I never liked it just because it was popular anyway, there were enough other people doing that ! I was into it because it made a connection with me, I felt it. Not because it was fashionable !In the back of my mind I always knew it was’nt going anywhere, not with so many people showing mad love for the music.
Just think of how many differen’t genres Drum and Bass itself can encapsulate... nearly every single one has been incorporated at one time or another. It’s probably the one form of music that is capable of containing all other genres, while simultaneously remaining one all of it’s own.

On the release tip, high quality seems to be the order of the day. With 12’s coming thick and fast I just don’t have the cash for all the "black gold" that’s out there at the moment. There’s so much variety available. In fact, there has always been great variety, just never as prolific.
With everyone and their mum making beats these days... to coin a well known phrase... it’s a logical progression. Nowadays it’s not so much of a UK fling, but more of an international affair. The people’s love of Drum & Bass has grown, is still growing and I'm sure it will continue to grow...

WORLDWIDE BABY !
