HANS CHRISTIAN is a German cellist, composer, music producer, recording artist, and sound engineer. He and singer KIM WATERS are the creative forces behind the music group RASA which has released six CDs since 2000. RASA’s devotional and elegant sound has earned Hans an international reputation as talented composer, performer, and producer.
In addition to RASA, Hans is working on many musical projects, spanning various styles and genres. He has lived in the United States since 1982 and is currently based in Door County, WI. RASA is the musical collaboration of Kim Waters (vocals) and Hans Christian (production, cello, sarangi, nyckelharpa, other instruments). Formed in 1998, RASA has released six CDs on New Earth Records and Hearts Of Space Records.
Most of RASA's music is based on traditional bhajans from India, sung in Sanskrit, Bengali, and Hindi. The group has occasionally also added some English songs to their repertoire. RASA first performed in yoga studios around the United States and has more recently played in churches, conferences, and performance art centers.
Other artistic activites for the group members includes an extensive career as a painter for Kim and music production of other artists for Hans.
