Cafe Noir Productions is a subsidiary of MRC Bundy, Inc., a 501(c)3 non-profit arts organization based out of the Bundy Center for the Arts in Waitsfield, VT. We offer a wide range of musical theater selections from modern tunes to classics, and the humorously irreverent "Forbidden Xmas" series.
Cafe Noir's artistic director, Scott Weigand, sees the mission of the company as combining the talents of working, theatrical professionals from across the country with those of Vermonters and present professional level theater in the Mad River Valley. "By bringing community members and these professionals together, we will begin not just a creative process, but an educational one as well," Weigand said. "Local actors will have the opportunity to collaborate with working professionals and have the chance to gain a larger insight into what the professional theater world has to offer. Everyone involved will build upon their own skills while providing first class entertainment to local audiences." Cafe Noir productions planned for 2008 include solo cabarets by Weigand and Stefanie Maas Weigand, a workshop/cabaret for local singers in June called "Side by Side" and a fully-staged production of "Godspell" at the end of July.
