Central PA is mostly known for it's majestic mountains, fantastic sub shops, and realtive monotony. It's not widely recognized as a hot bed for underground pop music. Though many have tried (and cosequently, failed), most bands from the region fail to make a splash outside of the state's borders, if not simply for a lack of outlets. But not for much longer.
ROCKY3 is the creation of Rawb Iacuzio (ex-The Finale, ex-Hope Lies Beyond, ex-Ghost Town Radio), born mostly out of too much alcohol, nights around a bonfire, and a ridiculously optimistic outlook on life. Finding himself fighting an anxiety disorder that was taking over his life, Rawb gave up music in early 2005. But inspiration can't be silenced for long. Something was missing. So, in late 2006, armed with only a laptop, a smile, and a melody in his head, he started mashing together original samples and loops, creating what is now known as ROCKY3.
Now, 8 months later, ROCKY3 is spreading like wildfire. And the world may be ready for him. With fans from all over the United States visiting and listening everyday, it seems like the Central PA curse may be lifting. But who can blame them? Infectious melodies and undeniable pop sensibility fuses gracefully with largely indie rock undertones, creating a sound that even the stingiest of music snobs can't help but tap their foot to. Coupled with unusually upbeat lyrics and a blatantly obvious positive message, ROCKY3 is the sound you always wanted to hear coming from your speakers when all your friends are piled in the car for a road trip.
So go ahead and make some memories. Hopefully ROCKY3 can be the background noise while you're living your life.
