Jorge Luna

Jorge Luna, 27, is a true performer at heart. He can sing and dance all night but his self-proclaimed love is the first instrument he ever played, the drums. His songs are mainly about love and life's struggles. Born and raised in San Diego, but growing up without a father, things haven't always been so sunny for Luna. That has led him to want to convey a positive message of inspiration; that the negative experiences in our lives can drive us to be better people. Luna had a later start in his musical career, first playing drums at age 16 at his community's church. Nevertheless, he left his fellow churchgoers stunned at his natural abilities. It was then; Luna knew music was his calling. Determined to perfect his craft, he had bigger dreams than just being a little drummer boy. He wanted to be a performer. In the years that followed, Luna took piano and choir classes in college. He first debuted in 2005, doing small gigs with his younger brother Ricardo Luna at local coffee shops. Soon his entrepreneurship and constant networking took him to play at bigger venues which include some of the most popular bars and lounges in San Diego- U31, Onyx, Jacks La Jolla, Stingaree, Wavehouse, Café Sevilla, Whiterby and Confidential. Music is therapeutic for Luna and he said he hopes his sound can reach out and inspire others. Which is why when he is on stage performing, it's no act of vanity; he wants his audience to leave with an experience. Sharing that same passion are Luna's long-time friends and confidents, Jorge Ayala (guitar), Alex Montes (bass), and Abraham Camacho (drums). A few months ago when he was asked to play at Fashion Week San Diego he asked them to join him on this musical journey and he founded a lovely band by the name of Lyon Crowns.
