About Me
I am a multiple-personality, lively, intelligent, ambitious person who will keep you on your toes. ------ I am in LOVE with everything ITALIAN: the food, the culture, the people, the music, the very language. I don't know why; it is an innate attraction I have had all my life. . . .Maybe I was just born in the wrong place. :P ------ Actually, my first major helps me get to know more about this great country and culture: Modern Languages (Italian, Portuguese). My second major is Anthropology, where I want to focus on Mesoamerican archaeology at a graduate level. By the way, to all those Italians, Portuguese, or Brazilians reading this, I would love a tutor or anyone who can help me practice. ------ I try to move to a new place about every four years. I guess I'm a little bit of a nomad. My parents' job got me used to all the moving, and now I feel stuck if I don't move. ------ Music is one of the main motivators in my life, after God. I am an oboist (have been for 13 years) and a beginner mandolinist. Of course, even though I love classical music, I thoroughly enjoy just about every other genre, with the exceptions of bachata and merengue, though under the right circumstances I can handle them. Still, I am mostly into ballads (I'm a helpless romantic), Rock (love alternative, but not too into heavy), SOME hip hop/R&B, old salsa, major oldies (in Eglish and Spanish), and a lot of other wonderfully interesting stuff. ------ I LOVE to read, although I never seem to have enough time for it since I started college (kind of ironic, huh?). Jose Angel Buesa is my favortite poet. I lose myself in his words in a way I wish I could lose myself in the warmth of a loving embrace. His worldview is so different and unique from anybody else's that I know; to read his poetry is to see a new world or our own world transformed beyond what we thought possible. His imagery, metaphors, similes. . . .Everything about his works is amazingly beautiful and breathtaking to me. ------ Well, that's me in a majorly synthesized nutshell.
