My Interests

Music:

I am a proud member of Kaleidascopic, seizure inducing, folk, funk indie rock legend, the Mergatroid, who you will be able to find in my friend list. Listen to my profile track for a glimpse of my dubious solo talents. I listen to too many styles to list, but in a nut shell, I grew up listening to blur and pulp, I discovered The Specials, then Noel Coward, and now I listen to world music, dub, and er Scott Walker. I think half the indie bands around these days are total shit, and most of the unsigned bands I have listened to have got far more going for them. Such as 7 seconds of Love, David Goo, Left with pictures, Hot Head and many, many more. O.K, O.K, half of these are bands the Mergatroid have played with in the last six months but I'm allowed to be a little bit biased aren't I?

Movies:

Napolean Dynamite, Spirited Away, My Neighbour Totoro (Japanese animation), Belleville Rendevous (French animation), Little Miss Sunshine, the science of sleep, Jerry Springer the Opera, The Talented Mr Ripley, Don't look now, the Airplane and Naked Gun films.....

Television:

Anything with Ricky Gervais, the IT crowd, the sketch show, the 11 O'clock show, Bo Selecta...

Books:

No Logo - Naomi Klein. Matt Ridley - Origin of Virtue. Once More With Feeling - Charlie Skelton and Victoria Cohen. About a Boy - Nick Hornby. Dubliners - James Joyce. Them - Jon Ronson

Heroes:

Karl Wallinger from World Party (anyone remember him?), Iain Lee of 11 O'Clock Show fame, and Patrick Stewart - Hes seen everything, hes seen it all.

Some Poetry.

Ahem. "Christmas doesn't agree with me, like a turkey that was never left to thaw, like a Santa who got stuck in the chimney and had to take the door, like a cracker with just a fucking party hat, an...
