The neo classical heavy metal has always been the popular demand in the music scene of Japan. One would recognize the name Yngwie Malmsteen for all this cause. And we have found the guitar player who can top the virtuoso. His name is Katsu Ohta. He rose to the Japanese rock scene in the early 90's leading the melodic power metal band called "Astonishment". He also did a collaboration with Naoto Shibata of Anthem after the band broke up. But he went into the semi-retirement as the scene which never had the firm foundation disappointed him after a while. Soon the time for the resurrection.was right when the Japanese Heavy Metal scene once again, gained its power. In 2000, his first solo album was released on an independent label and impressed the fans with his super sonic neo-classical phrases. And in the May of 2002, Ark Storm, the band he formed was debuted on Nexus label.
A year later, he had gone through the changes in the line-up in his band to reach the higher goal and released the 2nd album in July, 2003. And as this line-up proved to be destined, Ark Storm had played a gig after gig. And in Sep. 2004, the 3rd album "The Everlasting Wheel" was completed.
