Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain.

About Me

I am originally from Carlisle, Iowa. I went to Iowa State and majored in psychology. While I was at Iowa State, I partied a little too much, and decided this isn't for me. In 1999, I decided to leave and I traveled around Europe for several months with my sister and 3 friends. It was a great experience. My favorite place was Rome, Italy. I then decided to go to nursing school, where I got a degree in 2002 from Mercy College in Des Moines. This is where my life gets complicated. I moved out to Philadelphia, where I worked as a nurse in the Cardiac ICU at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. I was in Philly for a total of about 18 months. I then moved to Chicago and worked in the PICU at a children's hospital for a year. Between one of those moves, I went to back to Europe and Ireland. I loved traveling so much that I decided to do the traveling nurse gig, and went to San Diego (LOVED IT). I was there for 4 months and had to return home to Iowa last December to take care of my sick mother. My mother got all better, so I decided to move to Colorado. I moved to Denver on September 6th, 2006 to become a ski bunny and enjoy the outdoors. I am working as a nurse at The Children's Hospital in the Cardiac ICU. I have a very laid back personality. I am very spontaneous. I appreciate honesty and respect from my men and my friends. I am good to my friends. I've always said that I was a man born in a woman's body. I think like a man, get along with men better than women, love watching football, and love war movies. I belong to a huge bicycle club and go on RAGBRAI every year for the past 9 years. RAGBRAI is an annual bike ride across Iowa- about 500 miles every July. The most important thing to me is my huge family. We are all so close. Well, that is my life in a nutshell!

My Interests

Bicycle riding, snowboarding, watching football, traveling, camping, watching live bands, going to the beach, watching movies, cooking, and spending time with my family and friends. I love sushi too.

Movies:

Wedding Crashers (FAVORITE), The Departed, Saw, Saw II, Silence of the Lambs, Cruel Intentions, Sweet Home Alabama, Tears of the Sun, Black Hawk Down, Armageddon, Snatch, The Goonies, Pretty Woman, Shark Tales. Which Grey's Anatomy Character Are You?

Meredith
You're smart and hard working, but whether it's dating drama or family stress, you don't have an easy life. In fact, sometimes it seems like you can't choose a good guy, no matter how hard you try. But, like Meredith, you don't give up. You're determined that no matter what else is going on in your life, you'll focus on your school work and most of the time you do. Give yourself credit for how far you've come, and when it comes to love, look for a guy who'll give you the attention and respect you deserve.
