Citizen Insane is a three piece avant-rock outfit from the outskirts of Macon, Ga. Dedicated and more than motivated, this group has a sound that is full of raw and vigorous energy, a vibe that is seemingly becoming more and more absent in today's electrified music. In a world with far too many rock bands doing little more than attempting to recapture the music they grew up on, Citizen Insane is truely unique. "Unique", a word thrown around far too often but seldom so backed up by anything that serves that very word any justice. No, these guys are not merely a second or third generation, tattered Xerox. And with such a wide array of influences, how could they be?
It's all there, everything from the chaotic freedom heard via bands like Sonic Youth and The Velvet Underground, to the raw intensity of The Stooges and Black Flag. Yep, it's chaotic, free, raw, and intense. . . and it's pretty too (i.e. The Beatles and Radiohead). But if you're looking to hear a band that studied day and night to sound like any of the aforementioned examples, you're not going to get it.
