For the drover's life has pleasures that the townfolk never know.

About Me

Lynne --
[noun]:
A hermit living in the big city
'How will you be defined in the dictionary?' at QuizGalaxy.comHere is part of a conversation I had recently with a friend of mine when he tried to pick me up: Him: "... because you're funny, you're intelligent, you're sensitive..." Me: (bursts out laughing) "I'm sensitive?" Him: "Yeah" Me: "When have I ever been sensitive?" Him: "You could be sensitive" Me: "Could be? So you have no proof then?" Him: "Well..... no"Don't bullshit me and we'll get along just fine. I'd do just about anything for good music and even more for good friends with good hearts. I rarely complete what I start. I wish on the first star. I prefer old houses to brand spankin' new ones. I haven't found the place to call "my home". There are two places I do call home, but I don't wish to live at either of them for an extended period of time. I can't stand the way people spell "your" or "you're" as "ur". Is it really that hard to add a few letters to appear slightly educated? I like watching the sun rise and set on the same day. I like playing with fire, figuratively and literally. I drive for a living, to calm myself down, when I'm bored, to pick myself up, to feel free and because I can. I believe the simple problems can be cured with one or all of three things; a nice cup of tea, a hot shower, and a nice long drive with music to suit the mood. I love the smell of coffee, but cannot stand the taste. I love the idea of having friends, but when it comes to it face to face, it appears I'm not really a people person. I was usually the last picked for sport in school. I paint my fingernails black. I dye my hair pink. I drive a blue ute. My favourite colour is purple. I love to cook big meals for other people, never myself. I don't like the taste of most food. I have had several bosses say to me in the past "You'd make someone a good wife one day", usually when I was cleaning meticulously. I laugh when I'm nervous, tired, embarrased, scared, taking the piss out of myself or someone else and when I find something just plain old funny. I like to sleep in a room that is pitch black - this doesn't EVER happen anymore. I get a deeper and better night's sleep in my car than I do in my bed in Perth. I prefer left-handed people over right-handed. I find them easier to connect with. I don't wear make-up. Jeans and t-shirt weather is just perfect for me. I love the sound of rain on a tin roof. One of my favourite scents in the world is rain on warm ashphalt. I doubt I will ever tire of travelling. As it says in a Kasey Chambers' song "Always moving suits me fine. I'll catch my breath when I sleep". I play the guitar. I'm learning the violin and harmonica. I want to buy a saxophone so I can play that again. However, I am not a musician. I have no natural talent to play. I find my own company very enjoyable. I like to think, not write. Although I've been told, by several people, that I should write a book about my life (or at least certain parts of it). Apparently it would be good reading.
