Adelaide's LEADFOOT !! ...Adelaide blues-rock band with influences that fall in the boogie, blues and rock genre covering: ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Muddy Waters, Doors, Allman Bros and SRV etc.This talented dual guitar based band have a history in three of Adelaides Rock outfits... 'Poontang', 'The Others' and 'Cliff and the Hangovers' ..combining boogie and blues rock to bring a hard partying atmosphere to all of their shows... Leadfoot is Boogie and Blues-Rock FLAT TO THE FLOOR!! ------------------------------------------------------------ --------- An Adelaide music scene institution !.. Cliff has been around forever, having fronted with legendary rockers such as: 'Ted Turnip & the Whistling Worms', 'Doctor Damage', 'The Others' and most notably- 'Cliff and the Hangovers' who have opened for various international acts including: Roy Buchanan, John Mayall, Canned Heat, Albert King, Buddy Guy, Edgar Winter, The Stray Cats, Spencer Davis, Screamin’ Jay Hawkins, Linc Wray and The Fabulous Thunderbirds !!! Cliff now brings his remarkable vocal abilities to Leadfoot !!! ------------------------------------------------------------ --------- Rob has had a thing for blues and boogie from an early age.. constantly listening to various blues forms from Muddy Waters, J.L.Hooker and John Mayall thru to Jimi Hendrix, Jeff beck, Steve Gaines and Billy Gibbons . After taking up the instument at age 16.. he started playing in bands (notably in Thin Ice with Gwyn Ashton).. in 1987, along with Gennaro, Poontang was formed.. After several incarnations the current band Leadfoot was born in late 2007 (“ ..this time we got it right!! ”) Rob’s influences are players including Johnny Winter, Jimi Hendrix, Billy Gibbons and Duane Allman... ------------------------------------------------------------ --------- Gennaro began his band career as the bass player for 'Poontang' ..(formed with Rob Englander in the ‘80s).. Poontang regularly supported acts around Adelaide such as ‘The Chris Finnen Offering’ ..’The Lunchcutters’ and ‘The Relics’.. in 2004 after a few years in the family way.. he and Rob decided to reunite and form a blues/boogie outfit!!.. ‘Leadfoot’ was born! ------------------------------------------------------------ --------- Like Cliff, Pete has been a part of the Adelaide scene since the Jurassic days.. providing the back bone to local (and interstate) acts such as The Others, The Shuffle Kings, Cliff and the Hangovers, Mugshot... etc. etc. Pete now brings his inimitable style to Leadfoot and is the glue that holds it all together!! ..... Pete is truly a master of the beat!! ------------------------------------------------------------ --------- Rob White .. Leadfoot welcomes Rob as our new bass player!! After a long history with Adelaide band 'Faultline'..
