Originated in Clarksville, TN in 2003. Myhr was formed from the remnants of another band including Dustin Bryant (guitar/vocals), Ben Shaw (bass/vocals), and Charlie Seay (drums/vocals). After two years of playing the local scene and trying to pick up new musicians. We found that dedication and talent didn't come hand in hand with the local musicians. Also our drummer at the time was married and had a newborn baby girl that he needed to focus on. We had been trying to make the bill at Icthus Christian music festival in KY. But since we weren’t represented professionally they discarded our demo (which was better than most of the bands we saw). While in attendance a storm came through and destroyed our camp site so we went to Louisville, KY to stay in a hotel. While in Louisville that evening, we went to Southeastern Christian Church where GOD placed it upon our hearts to leave TN in search of those who were destined to become a part of this band. In that decision Charlie our drummer chose to stay behind. We set a date and on July ninth we (Ben and Dustin) moved to Liberal, MO.
Liberal is where our Minister/Mentor Keith Sage moved to from TN a year Prior. This was great because when we moved to Liberal we found solitude away from distractions that we had faced back home. We searched for a couple of months and when nothing happened we began to have doubts about our decision to move. We then learned that things happen in Gods time not our own. At the beginning of September we began working at a factory in nearby Pittsburgh, KS. Where we met a keyboardist (Brandon Buckman) who was playing in another band at the time and we swapped demos. After listening he decided to make a change in his life and musical direction. We set a date to get together and collaborate he then brought along his drummer (Cody Jones) from his former band. When we got together we were blown away by their talent which we had not expected due to previous experiences with other musicians in the area. After two days of work we decided that this is exactly what we had been praying for.
