Anthony The Moniker

Philadelphia Native. Chicago Transplant. Anthony The Moniker is the founder of the Chicago-based House Music Label West Loop Gate Records. WWW.WLGRECORDS.COM. The Philadelphia native fell in love with sound during his freshman year at Lincoln University and has been spinning House Music ever since. Ironically enough, he now resides in the very city that gave birth to the music; Chicago, IL. although it is disputed the where it began; Chicago -vs- NYC. Spinning since the age of 13th, ATM was deeply immersed in the Hip-Hop scene and all its glory with the breakdancing, graffiti, scratching and the feel and energy of REAL Hip-Hop that was unfortunately lost to a hostile take-over by the mainstream.West Loop Gate Records was founded in 2005 and has been producing original House Music and Downtempo ever since. Our first track debuted in 2006 and we have over 20 tracks already in circulation. We initially released two 4 track EPs on vinyl. While this seemed to be going against the digital trend, we felt this would lend credibilty to our label to actually press up vinyl. Besides, we are still vinyl junkies and will always purchase vinyl, though some venues make it hard to actually play it. WLG Records released their debut album and first ever, all digital release entitled "Digital Delivery". Our original music can be purchased globally at Stompy.com, Dancerecords.com, and Juno Digital.Having held down several residencies and guest slots both in Philadelphia and Chicago, Anthony The Moniker is gearing up for more live DJ sets and a host of new releases in 2008.
