About Me

The BELGRADE DIXIELAND ORCHESTRA is founded in 2001. Since then many musicians played in this band, and probably the most important was trombonist Ljubomir Matijaca, one of the most famous dixieland musicians in Serbia and former Yugoslavia, who was a great influence and support to the orchestra. The band has played and still playing in many jazz clubs, festivals and theatres in Serbia and neighbour countries, sometimes followed by a dance troop "Dixie Dance Show", which became a great attraction and interesting adittion to the orchestra. The band also played on some jazz and dixieland festivals abroad, such as: Bohem Ragtime & Jazz Festival in Hungary, Miskolc Jazz Festival (Hungary), Bansko Jazz Festival (Bulgaria) and Norrtelje Jazzdagar in Sweden.
