It has many sides and angles to it. The story involves many talented people in different fields. This page will attempt to explore all the complex facts and people that made one of the biggest scandals in music history unforgettable.n 1989 a group called Milli Vanilli, fronted by Rob Pilatus and Fab Morvan released a successful album, Girl You Know It's True. The sound on the album was the brainchild of producer, Frank Farian. The group had several hit singles including, "Girl You Know It's True," "Baby Don't Forget My Number," "Girl, I'm Gonna Miss You" and "Blame It On The Rain."Once Frank Farian revealed the truth about Milli Vanilli to the world, it left the world wondering who was behind the music. In 1991, Frank Farian got back together with the original singers and released, The Moment Of Truth.While Frank Farian did invite most of the original talent back from, Girl You Know It's True, he didn't invite them all to be on the cover. Jodie Rocco and Linda Rocco both sang on The Moment Of Truth. However, he left Jodie Rocco and Linda Rocco off the cover of the album because they weren't African American. It is also interesting to note, Frank Farian also kept the original rapper from the song, "Girl You Know It's True," Charles Shaw off The Moment Of Truth all together. This was probably due to the fact that Charles Shaw went public about Rob and Fab not singing when the scandal was still going on. (Frank Farian later paid Charles Shaw to retract his statements.)While Frank Farian is a very talented producer, it is clear, he wasn't being totally honest when he came forward in 1991 with THE REAL MILLI VANILLI. The original vocalists from the first album, Girl You Know It's True were: Brad Howell, John Davis, Jodie Rocco, Linda Rocco and Charles Shaw. However, the only original members that were featured on the cover for this new album, The Moment Of Truth were Brad Howell and John Davis. The rest of the members were newly added.However, it was soon revealed that Rob Pilatus and Fab Morvan had not sung a note on the album. As it turned out, the talent behind the album consisted of professional and talented artists and musicians. Frank Farian personally selected the best in Europe to work on the album.The Real Milli Vanilli is: Brad Howell, Jodie Rocco, Linda Rocco, John Davis and Charles Shaw. BUT REALLY,, FAB AND ROB WERE THE IMAGE. Jeff Nathanson, who previously wrote about a famous fraud for Catch Me If You Can, is working with Fabrice Morvan and the estate of Rob Pilatus in order to script the Milli Vanilli story from their point of view. He is also set to direct the movie. He has his work cut out for him, as it will be difficult to get audiences to accept the duo as a tragic pair and not the joke they still are thought of as. Especially out of respect to Pilatus, who DID NOT commit suicide, but died of an accidental overdose in 1998, the tale will have to be told as a serious drama. If it need mock anything, it would do fine to ridicule the pop music industry...
