Band Members:“Partners In CRhyme†was formed in 2001 by Jeremy Williams, aka “Mr. Penetration†and John Gustafson, aka “Johnny D’ Cronâ€, with not much more than some ill rhymes and a “hand me down†keyboard. Not long after getting started they joined up with heavy metal guitarist Mitch Hendrickson. By permanently adding Mitch’s heavy metal sound to the group, Partners In CRhyme tapped into a new hardcore style that set them apart into a genre of their own. Since then, they’ve, upgraded their sound, performed on a variety of stages, recorded countless tracks and opened up for some of the hardest hitting acts in the rap industry. They are the perfect combination of horror-core murder rap and heavy metal.Early in 2006 the local HipHop scene began to buzz when the group released their home-studio album called “CRhyminally Committedâ€. This record made people aware of their unique hardcore style and landed them shows with artists such as Tech N9ne and Esham. Around the time of that albums release, Penetration went in search of upgrading the groups’ sound to industry standards. The crews deep ties to the HipHop community led him to notable Seattle producer Isaac Meek of Undercaste Music. They spent two years making their latest album, “DAWN of tha’ BEAST†; during which Isaac Meek became a huge contributor to the over-all sound and development of the group. The basic production Johnny had put together was adequate to cause crowds to riot, but filtered thru the ears of Isaac’s co-production, “DAWN of tha BEAST†became a heart-pounding, murder frenzy, laced with pain, agony, life, death and the joy of mayhem. Along with local artists Les’Sonz, Island Trybe and Sawchosiz the album features both Big Krizz Kaliko of Strange Muzik and legendary horror-core, Detroit-based rapper ESHAM.The first single off of the new album, “Do They Wanna Die†goes straight for the throat.
Mitch Hendrickson’s guitar work is like a concentrated dosage of pure adrenaline hitting the bloodstream after having your teeth kicked in by D’Cron and Penetration’s verbal curb stomping. It was in the creation of this song that the group first found their signature sound. An earlier inception of it was included on the 2006 limited release “CRhyminally Committed†and helped them gain a dedicated underground following. With Isaac Meek’s help, the tracks wickedly violent sound has been maximized and mastered to make ears bleed and mosh pitts jump off.Inspired by the graphic lyrical style of hardcore rap and the riot inducing sound of heavy metal, Partners In CRhyme stays true to their roots with murderous lyrics and electric guitar riffs that make you wanna smash your mom’s face in. Although the tempo of the album tends to lean toward the mischevous side of the life, Partners In CRhyme touchdown on everything from drunkin misdealings, deep seeded revenge, female trickery, late night blunt sessions, to sombre reflections of reality. Jump on in the big gold Cadillac and go for a ride with Partners In CRhyme.Partners In CRhyme is available for shows, features and new projects.
