I am here for Friends

About Me

"I will be kind to the Baby while I am in the Cave, as long as he does not pull my tail too hard, for always and always, and always. But STILL I am the Cat that walks by himself, and all places are alike to me." (Rudyard Kipling, from "Just-So Stories: The Cat That Walked By Himself)
Yes, my name really is Jake. That's what my birth-mother named me shortly after i was born... she couldn't do it right away, because she was busy giving birth to my brothers and sisters. After I left the nest, and for the first several months of my life, I lived on my wits, charm and natural skills in the apartment complex where I was born. There were lots of kind strangers who would feed me and sometimes let me stay inside when the weather was bad. But I love the outdoors, and I don't even mind getting rained on most of the time. One particularly stormy day, I took shelter on my friend Joe's patio. He and I had met once or twice in the parking lot, and really hit it off. I was soaking wet, but Joe took me in and dried me off with a big fluffy yellow towel. It felt soooo good. No one had ever done that for me... well, Mom-cat used to wash me with her rough tongue... but now I have a wonderful adopted mother and father and a nice place to live. (to be continued)
There was a playlist here, but MySpace blocked it. Assholes.
