About Me

I just hit 41 on 29 July, though I still feel 25...OK, maybe 30ish. At any rate, I'm a proud dad of three beautiful girls and a grandpa to a beautiful little midget girl! I love my job, life is pretty good, I'm unmarried (unfortunately) and I'm learning to tolerate my new son-in-law. I am a lifelong resident of the Hoosier state and a graduate of Indian Creek H.S. in Trafalgar (class of '86)and a proud veteran of the US Army. For any vets who visit this page, I was with HHC 3-27th 'Wolfhounds', 2nd BDE, 7th Infantry Div (Light). I decided to do the Myspace thing for a couple of reasons. 1. It's just what people do now. 2. You are expected and encouraged to be self-centered. 3. There's just something neat about packaging the whole essence of your being onto one little web page! My Interests

Writing, reading, spending time with my daughters, watching great movies, working out so I can look 18 again. OK, just joking about the 18 part, halfway joking about working out.

I'd like to meet:

Phoebe Cates, Lewis Black, Oliver North, Jane Seymour, Ingrid Whatshername from ABBA. Now, more realistically, I'd like to hook up with old friends and meet a decent, genuine, unpretentious woman who shares my values. .

Of course, this is the fantasy love of my life, Phoebe Cates!

Music:

Baroque classical, 80s rock, some 90s pop, even (ye gads) a little hip hop, Philip Kirkorov, Sofia Rotaru, and some other Russian pop artists, and techno. Yes, I actually like techno! Stuff that in your pipe and smoke it! Like most people my age, I yearn for the days when MTV was rock videos and Max Headroom. I had to post a clip of Max Headroom below. It's just a coke commercial but I can't really explain Max to my daughters without a visual aid! With regards to the video clip featuring Miss Teen South Carolina, I just HAD to put that up, as it speaks to the state of public education today!

Movies:

Thrillers, sci-fi, John Wayne westerns, comedy. Just a comment about sci-fi...many sci-fi movies projected we'd have flying cars and moonbases by 2000. What the hell happened? I want my flying car dammit!

Television:

Family Guy, American Dad, just about anything humorous. But I DON'T like the Simpsons. I'm a news junkie, so I'm way too familiar with FOX News. Also like several sitcoms, mostly older ones.

Books:

Tom Clancy, Stephen Coonts, historical nonfiction (particularly anything about Napoleon Bonaparte or the Romanov dynasty of Russia), the occasional biography, and of course the Holy Bible!

Heroes:

Ronald W. Reagan for helping bring about the end of the Cold War through containment rather than detente and the sense of national pride that he instilled in us, John Wayne for being an iconic figure who embodied all that is good about Americans, the Holy Father John Paul II for being such an inspirational leader of the Church and such a champion of the poor and needy, William F. Buckley (the father of modern conservatism), my Dad for being my teacher and mentor, and of course all of the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces for putting it on the line to protect our country.
