About Me

We here at Spent Potential would like to announce that we will be going on what is referred to as an indefinite hiatus. This Saturday's show will be our last for a while, possibly forever. We'd like to thank each and every fan and friend who has come out and supported us over the last few years...it's because of you guys that we've come so far and had such a great time doing it. We'd like to thank the following people individually for all of their help over the years: Jennings Hobson - you've been unfathomably awesome and we are forever in your debt Our former members Josh Vermillion, Luke Currie, Dan, Reynold & Berky Erin Switzer & Katy Lenard Danny Boy, Adam & Kent Rocket Music Sk8 Brant Marlett and Darty Gabe, Jaime, Joey, Lindsey Cole's friends and everyone else who gave us a place to crash Culpeper Music Dan Jenkins Nikki and the staff of United Stor-All The Reasons Were Legion OTD - We'll miss you guys All the other great bands we played with All the sucky bands we played with (you made us look awesome) Mao John Paul and the guys from EI Seamonster's friend DJ for dragging people to our shows Ozzy Coldsores The Giles County Rec Center and, of course, our parents and families for all their love and support for all of us.Keep an eye on this page for any new projects that the members might be working on.LOVE, A, M, J & AThere's a lot of talk in the last few years about image and "cred." Street cred, punk cred, etc. I've seen that old-school video where Cedric from ATDI doesn't want you doing "that karate-kickin' shit" at their show. I watched the woodstock '99 riots. I was in the pit at a System show, and stood back to avoid the circle at the Thursday show at 930. Fuck your cred, fuck your image and fuck you. This is true outsider music. This is music forged from raw talent to a fine steel with which to stab at the heart of the divide-and-conquer conglomerate culture. This music transcends genre...it transcends image...and it dares you to ditch whatever flock you've been following in the vain hope of finding yourself. This is the "skull and bones" of rock...the elite secret society of the anti-hero. The band with no name come to take the town by force and leave the perpetrators' corpses at the city limits.
