There's A Starman Waiting In The Sky

About Me

THIRTY-EIGHT HARES is Melanie Way’s sonic timeline of a superseismic summer. It's a lo-fi alternative experimental album combining multi-layered mini songs created on a Boss RC-20 Phrase Recorder Loop Station (Way plays all the instruments), with field recordings recorded on a RadioShack mono cassette recorder. It's the tripped-out direct result of the breakup of her band The Loosies, a see-saw relationship, a Brooklyn neighborhood grating on her nerves, magical escapes to the enchanted forests of the Berkshires and Catskills, and many other events of the summer.
Melanie Way's debut solo album is HERE and is available onCDBaby and Tower Recordsand will be available at select indie music retailers (more info to come).
Here's what the kids are saying:
"It takes you on a journey with a wide variety of evocative settings - - from really humorous to really deep - it stays with you - this is a unique musical voice - a window into a world - a cool balance of mischievous eavesdropping and expressive inventiveness - I love it!" --Karl Madden
"It's like a tripped Kim Deal dream sequence." --Orry Benavides
"I'm totally blown away. I love the writing, the ideas, the sounds." --Allen Farmelo, Farmelo Recording Services
"Tell ya, pretty neat CD. Mono = great idea." --Tom Boyce
"...Ambitious music in the encompassing sense of musique concrète and so-called outsider art." --Jeff Bogumil
