Fundraising Efforts

Thank you for taking the time to read this message. As many of you may be aware, Mariela Lucas, Miss R.D. U.S. is currently preparing to move onto the next stage on her road to Miss Universe. In the next couple of months, Mariela Lucas will be traveling to the Dominican Republic where she will be competing for the title of Miss R.D. Universe, earning her the honor to represent the Dominican Republic in the 2009 Miss Universe pageant.

As you can imagine, there's lots of work and preparation that comes along with this task. And additionally, there are lots of expenses that are associated with getting prepared for the pageant(s). For this reason, we are currently beginning a fundraising campaign in which we would like to encourage the generosity of sponsors (private or corporate) to contribute to the cause, if feasible. We understand that many individuals welcome these opportunities and for this reason we are reaching out to them. If you'd like to discuss this, please feel free to contact us. Below, you will find a DONATE link which has been set up through paypal in which you can give a contribution. You can give as little or as much as you'd like. There is no minimum or no maximum.

Impulsada por el incontenible afán de alcanzar todo cuando se propone, no escatima esfuerzo alguno para lograr sus ideales y sus metas. Es también dueña de una férrea personalidad y una entereza sin límites para enfrentar los obstáculos inesperados.

Nunca temió al escenario. Su creatividad y talento en la escuela, donde sobresalía de los demás alumnos, era algo evidente. Aparte de los libros le gustaba mucho la pintura, el ballet y el tap. Además participaba en competencias, en una de las cuales ganó el premio Sotheby's por una pintura influenciada por las técnicas de Picasso y de Vincent Van Gogh.

Su nivel académico ha sido alcanzado en la Universidad de Purchase, New York, y amplió su currículo periodístico en una universidad internacional en Beijing, China.

Aparte de ser bilingüe (Inglés-Español), tiene gran conocimiento de diversas culturas, adquirido en sus viajes a Londres, París, Bélgica, Beijing, Puerto Rico y, por supuesto, su país natal República Dominicana…    Haga clic aquí para continuar leyendo la biografía en español.
