i live in the gray area, between the absolutes

About Me

one time a friend told me i was guarded . . .
i need to build, i need to create, i need a nap. if given the option i prefer to sleep naked (honestly, who wouldn't). when i'm working on something (i.e. welding a tank or frame, even something as simple as cleaning a part up with the wire wheel) i tend to stick my tongue out between my lips. the best statement i can say about my future is that i don't want to make license plates. not in the criminal got caught sense, but more in i don't want to do the same thing over and over. i enjoy the problem solving aspects, the design, the construction of the first one, but churning out subsequent copies . . . not really my bag. any questions?
if you were to ask me right now one thing that i could not live without it would be motorcycles. there are few if any activities that can make me grin like an idiot as even a bad motorcycle ride can. i wouldn't necessarily say i'm a hopeless romantic, but i certainly am hopeless in some sense.
people helping people gets me all choked up. i'm corny like that.
my cousin matt has this to say about me "creative and slightly dark, somewhat human."
i'm a skeptic, a cynic, and an optimist. i'm terribly sarcastic.

My Interests

current project - www.shutupandchop.com

I'd like to meet:

someone willing to go out and do something. funny people (looks included). smart people. sarcastic people. crazy people. people who build stuff. creative people (this one is a must).

Music:

boy sets fire, bright eyes, warren zevon, bob dylan, afi, tom waits, agent orange, social distortion, the get up kids, the misfits, the movielife, the anniversary, suicide machines, gogol bordello, dashboard confessional, guns n' roses, blackalicious, jurassic 5, 2 skinnee j's, NIN, pilfers, modest mouse, meryl joan lammers, concrete blonde etc . . .i'd like to take this oppurtunity to say i've kinda of fallen out of the music scene. not that i was huge into it but in college i had people to help introduce me to new music and go to shows with. now . . . if you've got something worth listening to or a show worth going to drop me a line.

Television:

mr. show with bob and david, firefly (if you haven't seen it you're really missing out), cowboy bebop, the office, arrested development, scrubs, entourage on occasion . . .

Books:

lullaby, the picture of dorian gray, zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance, the rum diaries, the foundation series, hunter s. thompson, fierce invalids home from hot climates, the alchemist, life or pi, me talk pretty one day etc . . .

Heroes:

i can really narrow this down. there no one person that i aspire to be like but there are many people that inspire me in their own ways. really this includes family members, friends, random people off the street. for all you know you could be one of those people . . . or not
