About Me

Born and raised in the Los Angeles area, Jon Bickford has served as the Director of Photography for multiple Feature Films, TV Pilots, Documentary Films, Commercials, Live Events, and much more. Mr. Bickford graduated from the New York Film Academy Advanced Filmmaking Program in 2001 and has also studied Entertainment Law at UCLA, Audio Engineering at Long Beach City College and TV Broadcasting at Goldenwest College. Mr. Bickford has also worked as an instructor of Cinematography and Directing at the New York Film Academy's campus in Studio City, Ca. In just the past 24 months Jon Bickford's work as a Director of Photography has played in 25+ film festivals around the world including Cannes 2007 as well as taking home many awards for best film and other accolades. Recent festival successes in nearly every genre include: Night of the Dead: Leben Tod (Horror) Electronica and Electronica 2, (Drama) For All the Tomorrows, (SciFi). Opening Night, (Comedy). The Urge, (Thriller) and Chemistry, (Romantic Comedy). Mr. Bickford's ability to seamlessly float between genres working with budgets both large and small is proof of his ability to handle any project that he takes on. Some other recent highlights include live TV work such as the 2007 NAACP awards and the 2008 World Series Of Poker with ESPN. He is also currently Directing, Shooting and Editing the upcoming dvd release, "Legacy of Violence" to be released on Nuclear Blast Records for the heavy metal band Suffocation. Currently on the slate for '09 as Director of Photography are the feature films, "Redemption" and "The Border" for Cinemotion 21st, "Electronica 3" for Super Grande Films, and the independent feature film, "Used Car Joey" for GH Films. Other projects Jon is currently working on as Director and Producer are the family western series, "The Desert Foxes" with Silverstone Pictures, the dark comedy feature, "F#$K You, PAY ME!!!" and the Romantic thriller, "Audition", for Trepany Films, and the family/drama/comedy/SciFi/thriller, "Martians!" With Autrefois Productions.
