After playing in playing in drumbands at very early age, Sven began to develop his drummingskills as a teenager by playing with records in a wide range of styles.
Also from one day after buying his 1st official drumset he was asked by local youth and child choirs to play popsongs with a small combo.At his late teens, Sven began to play live with a funk/groove/rock/hiphop band (NEVERTHLESS)) with in an extraordinaty range of dynamics.
Also at that time he mixed latin/folk/jazz and ‘70’s –rock in a rock-band called MAGUS PERDE, which later released a cd called “Shades Of Dayâ€.
Several projects/bands followed; a.o. theatre production "INCASU" and ENTROPY, a female-fronted rockband.While studying professional drums at the ALKMAAR CONSERVATORY (w/Mark Eshuis), Sven toured Holland with seventies/eighties rockband THE OPEN, which released 2 singles.
Before, during and after this college, Sven kept on buzzy developing himselfplayed with lessons (ao Lucas van Merwijk, Kim Weemhoff /workshops/studies/bands/sessions in JAZZ/LATIN/NEW ORLEANS/SOUL/RAP and lots of BLUES and ROCK.
...with a.o. LITTLE BOOGIE BOY, MR BOOGIE WOOGIE, RUBEN HOEKE...and in Los Angeles with ao ANDREW GOUCHE, LOUIS METOYER and WILLIE CHAMBERS (!) and anything/anybody that seemed interesting for one way or another, but ALWAYS where his heart is!Besides drumming Sven keeps himself buzzy with art, especially designing tattoes and cd-covers, and concertphotography.
