Bola Delgado

Born in Belo Horizonte, Brasil, the music runs in the blood of the Delgado’s family. His great-grandmother, Joana Duarte, was “Spalla” of the symphonic orchestra at “Clóvis Salgado Foundation”. His grandmother, Yolanda Rocha, was a piano and acordeon teacher. One of hers students was the instrumentist Célio Balona. His mother, Ana Delgado is singer and composer. She also plays piano and guitar. His father, Fernando Delgado is composer and multi-instrumentist. His uncle Eduardo Delgado, one of the best flutists of Minas Gerais, already followed musicians as Jair Rodrigues, Alceu Valênça, Toninho Horta, Milton Nascimento and others.He began his career in Pedro Leopoldo. At the age of thirteen worked with bands of various styles of music, such as: Undersky (Heavy Metal), The Souldiers (Soul Music), Ana & Fernando Delgado (Pop/Rock and MPB). At sixteen made his first major presentation with his parents “Ana & Fernando Delgado”. He participated in the UAIDSTOCK, an event that brought together Lô Borges, Celso Adolfo, Juarez Moreira, Affonsinho, Gilvan de Oliveira, Selmma Carvalho and others.At nineteen, for a greater specialization, went to the Souza Lima’s Conservatory (Berklee’s College of Music school credential) in SP/Capital, where he studied drums and percussion with Master Dinho Gonçalves and Carlos Ezequiel, theory and harmony with Pollaco and piano with Guilherme Ribeiro.With Dênio Costa graduated in Audio Technical, working with his father as a recording assistant at the “Studio Trilha” and “Fernando Delgado’s Studio”.Living in Belo Horizonte since 2004, he has been playing as a free-lance with musicians as Toninho Horta, Youri Popoff, Eduardo Delgado, Matheus Barbosa, Enéias Xavier, Fabiano Cerqueira, Lena Horta (Jazz), Affonsinho (Brazilian Popular Music), Kênia Aguiar (Dance Music), Fernando Schneider (Clube da Esquina), Antônio Neto (Bossa-Nova), Kuringa’s band (Pop/Rock), Anna Ly and Ces-4 (Bossa-Nova..Brazilian Popular Music), Roda Viva Group (Progressive), Marcos Rabello (Jazz), with Circo da Meia Noite, Circunstância (DJ and Percussion), Alexandre Araujo (Blues), Tabulero’s Band (Regaae/Rock), Rapa do Tacho (Samba-Funk/Bossa-Nova) and Mandrax (Pop/Rock) playing on tour along two years.In 2007 and 2008 participated in “Everything is Jazz Festival” in Ouro Preto and the “Savassi’s Jazz Festival” in Belo Horizonte. With Marcos Rabello, opened the Stanley Jordan’s show at Freegells Music Hall. Fernando also played in Formula 1 GP in SP/Capital.Maintain the project "Bola Delgado calls", playing with musicians such as Beto Lopes, Amaury Angelo "Aranha", Michel Antonucci, Ezequiel Lima, Daniel Silveira, Pedro Delgado, Marcilio "Chacal," Fred "Derf" Heliodoro, Mana Morais, Chocolate "Batera" and Fabinho Gonçalves.He has just joint the group of the singer Dona Jandira (Samba), playing with her in the “Grand Theater of the Palace of Arts".
