The central premise of the members of Olive Hour Records is to create products finely balanced between art and entertainment. This is the reason we have developed such a diverse and devoted fan base in the prairie region of Canada. People who appreciate good music and good art also appreciate our unique indie-rap flavour. Hip hop music, over the last decade has branched into many sub-genres and sounds, creating niche audiences in unlikely places such as Winnipeg, Saskatoon, and in our case, Calgary, Alberta. It's a beautiful thing, and we believe in it strongly. Olive Hour understands and appreciates its role in the Calgary hip hop scene as well as the nation-wide rap community.Olive Hour Records is a new name with old faces. Planit and the members of Jonny Sootentai initially burst up from the underground and into the Calgary hip hop scene with two albums that had a large impact on the prairie region, ‘Onword’ and ‘From Classrooms to Cubicles’ respectively. Under a new name and with a fresh start, the Olive Hour team recruited three new artists to kick start the operation; Alter One , Cadilakid and Decline . Musically, the addition of the new artists was the key-stone for the arch-way that is Olive Hour. With that, OH is defining the Prairie Rap sound and grabbing the attention of Canada with our unique music and personality.New ReleasesWal Martian - Martian Law
