Hand crafted with care and the knowledge that someone’s prized guitar hangs from it.I have always loved music with a strong desire to play guitar. The only problem I’m not very musical. But I do excel at working with my hands. I’ve always been able to repair most things mechanical; I’ve work in wood and metal. Almost everything I own I’ve taken apart, most of it I was able to put back together. About 15 years ago I started riding horses, so I began making horse tack for myself and friends. I found that I enjoyed and was good at leather work. A few years ago I bought a Gibson Voo Doo SG. I had always wanted a Gibson, and now that I had one I needed a custom strap. I wanted a strap that would appear to be one piece but still adjustable.It took a little while and a few experiments before I thought to put one strap inside the other. What I came up with was a strap that appeared to be one piece but was still adjustable. I was very happy with the way the strap looked to be one piece of leather, but there was a surprise waiting for me. At first it seemed to be a flaw in the design, I thought I had screwed up. When I tried to adjust the strap the tail strap kept getting stuck in the main strap unless the strap was fairly flat. But when I put the strap over my shoulder and put weight on both ends it would not come apart.
