"As you get older, you change, as do the people you associate with… in the end, everyone remembers you as a different person."
I believe in strawberry ice cream cones. Holding hands. Driving with the windows down. Laughing till you turn red and possibly snort. Brightly coloured shoes. Toys. Cartoons. Family. Pillow fights. Watching movies on a couch or in bed, snuggly warm. Children's books. Acting silly. Sweatshirts that are still fuzzy on the inside. Having a good cry every now and then. Adventures. Shiney things. Fun stickers. Friends. And good, small-brewery beers.
I am currently working in Rockville as an Account Manager for RiskMetrics Group, a company which provides financial risk assesment, corporate governance guidance, and proxy voting services. I work particularly with environmental, social, and religious investment managers, pension funds, etc. It is not what I want to do 'when I grow up', but for now it pays the bills. It is pleasant and I have awesome co-workers. I have taken my GREs and have decided that I would like to go to grad school in the New York City area. Now I just have to find the time to apply to the schools and see if they'll accept me. My aim is for 2008. I want to get my Masters in Counseling Psychology and become a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have two beautiful god-children, Melanie and Matthew, who live in Missouri with their mama and dada, Monika (Langenheim) Perry and Michael Perry. Life is good and I am content.
Rest in Peace, Martin. You have always been such a wonderful person, and I am so sad that you are gone. 08-06-07
