Unlike most record labels, we have no CDs available and we have no cassettes available. Ripe Audio Records specializes in live performance downloads, and with unprecedented sound quality.
Traditional record labels pay the artist to create an album. After negotiating their contracts, the artist goes into the studio and records the album.
Ripe Audio operates differently. Our recordings are made at live performances and concerts; and with the high-quality equpiment used, each one of these recordings can easily become a "Live Album".
So where does that put Ripe Audio Records? Someplace between a bootlegging service and a traditional record label.
It's something new, and something to be excited about!
Ripe Audio Records was started as a way to enable online distribution of live shows which have been recorded. Most of the catalog has been recorded via live multi-track, which allows unprecedented sound quality from a live event.
These recordings are being made available as they were recorded: by the set. And awfully affordably too. An average 45-60 minute set of a concert costs only a buck or 2.
Ripe Audio Records is based near Buffalo, NY; the goal is to build a catalog composed of concerts featuring this regional talent. Genres generally grasp fusion and funk, jazz, rock and pop.
