Align finds its roots in Yannick Willems and Kim Vanrooy making it to the last 20 candidates of the Belgian Idols contest in 2007. They started talking and kept in touch after their elimination from the contest. Not long after that at the VIP afterparty of the contest Yannick brought along his brother, Stéphane Willems, and together with Kim they started talking about the creating of the band. Rehearsals were planned and eventually after some setbacks Align was finally complete when Semir Brik and Tim Geuns joined the band.
