Influences: "The Disco Loop" as it was referred to was made from the middle section of "Arnold Layne" as played by Jannick Top Et AL on "Discoballs 'Rosebud' a tribute to Pink Floyd" 1977 (723601B/WEA/Flarenasch).
We made no secret of the fact that it was 'appropriated', we chose never to record the shows or use it in our tape releases - which otherwise contained montages of our performance tapes with live playing.
You can see some reviews of the Event Group which mention the aforesaid loop (23 Skidoo & Event Group - Cabaret Futura). We used to dance, create performances around and play over the tape.
The Event Group is mentioned in an excerpt from Richard Strange's book 'Strange - Punks and Drunks and Flicks and Kicks' (published by Andre Deutsch May 2002).
