In the late 1990s, Words of Faith Missionary Baptist Church, which is located in the heart of Dallas, Texas, established a mime ministry with several members of their talented youth. It wasn't until early 2007 that the church organized what we know now as the Mimes of Miracles. This vibrant group of mimes are religiously dedicated to the ministry which they provide.
Under the direction of Regina McCoy, the mimes have flourished and have made several appearances. After performing at the Duncanville Black History Program, there was a flattering article portraying the Mimes of Miracles in Action.
The year 2008 has been thus far a year of exciting changes for the group because they recently added their first female member, and they have also dedicated themselves to teach and train their newest and youngest member, Danny.
Currently there are 6 dynamic mime performers, and they are DJ(Emulate), Lora(Epitome), Tyron(Fidelity) , Jade(Bona Fide), Gabric(Virtuous), and Danny(Pyous).
The Mimes of Miracles have chosen an excerpt from Psalms to explain their dedication to the mime ministry. It reads as follows: Psalms 103:21 – Bless ye the Lord, All ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure.
