Lynn Ann & Gate 18

About Me

I'm Lynn Ann of New York City. I named my band (Gate 18) after a really crazed experience I had while tripping on acid at a Grateful Dead show at the Meadowlands arena in NJ - prob'ly during sometime in 1982-1983. My seats were in Gate 18. I somehow became convinced that the Dead was going to sacrifice me on stage during the encore. I am happy to say that they did not do this. I've been at this forever (music, that is -not tripping on acid...) I started out in cover bands at the tender age of 14 and started writing my own material at 16. I have never stopped writing or performing and have no intention of ever stopping. Aside from being Gate 18's singer/songwriter/frontwoman, I play guitar, piano and harmonica. My 6th studio album, LYNN ANN & GATE 18: SMOOTH SIX-PACK, is now available and you can purchase it (along with personally and professionally packaged "bootlegs" of my other 5 CD's which are no longer in print) directly through me, via email at: [email protected] These songs are a groovy collection of rock, soul and bluesy, funky, folky jazz. YEAH, BABY! CURRENTLY - as of MARCH 2008 - I have SEVERAL indie film music projects pending, and I am heading back into the studio to record my first "solo/unplugged" album. Stop in at a gig when you're kicking around NYC -I'm always up for hangin' out.In the meantime, be kind, be brave and behave. Luvya - Peace~!
