EMOTION1's interest in music all started when he was shoved into doing music GCSE at school. "what a waste of time" (he said). but then something ignited his passion for something that is so powerfull, music took a hold and pushed it forward. using software like midi logic got EMOTION1 into arranging and producing. The amount of sounds and styles at the click of a button and the press of a key.
Then we come to what happens after school! , well against a lot of peoples wishes (including family) he decided that college was the next step to indulge this passion for music, He was playing keyboard at a decent level by now and thought "why stop there" Bass guitar, Electric guitar, Turntableism, Vocaling. and not forgetting several Gigs at well know venues in his area. Teaching kids at a school to DJ!. All this was a fantastic step into the world of music production and live performance. Then EMOTION1 discovered 'Fruity loops 3.5' And this steadily became an obsession, creating beats, loops and Cutting samples. even remixing peoples work!. Emotion1's very first full dance track was arranged and mixed on 'CUBASE' and was funnily enough called ............. Emotion1!!. Trance, D&B, Hip Hop, And experimental ambient styles took him to a level of involvement that will never be broken. and he qoutes "the best two years of my life so far!"
The gap inbetween university and what happend for the next 3 years is history and isnt important apart from the experiences EMOTION1 gained
BANG!!!! like a giant fist of enlightenment! JAY was hanging around with some grime producers, Hip Hop beats and Angry vocals, with meaning and soul. It hit him in the heart, hard! and EMOTION1 was born again!! Getting hold of the software that started this passion, good old fruity loops (now FL studio) and the beats came raining down. He was arranging tracks and collaborationg ideas. At last the reaslisation kicked in! This was what He was here on this earth to do!!
The absolute Euphoria of Trance and D&B was getting the appetite wet! and Emotion1 for the past year has been producing an album called Liquid Thaughts, (Based on a book called 'liquid thinking') The inspiration to make dreams reality was so strong that He believed in nothing else but the creation of Music, and to move the hearts of everyone who heard it. You see inspiration comes from the world around you, the people you meet and the experiences you enjoy and also suffer. He has a few people to thank for encouraging his passion, these people will never be forgotten and have all played there part in making EMOTION1 understand music and also understanding who he really is, what he was born to do! and what he will continue to do until the day he dies!
