About Me

Elena Kiseleva was born on 16th February, 1984 in Moscow. In 2002 she graduated from the Central Special Music School of the Moscow Conservatory, where she studied with Prof. Lev Naumov. After that she studied at the Chopin College with Daniil Kopylov. In 2003 Elena studied at the Russian Academy of Music with Prof. Oleg Boshnyakovich.She was a recipient of a reward from the V. Spivakov foundation. Elena Kiseleva has been a regular participant in "The Moscow Autumn" series of festivals that are organized by the Union of Composers (1994 - 2003). At the age of eleven she played in Paris and at a festival of modern music in Bourges (France). She has been a participant in many concerts in philharmonic halls in Moscow and St. Petersburg. She has played with success in Italy, Finland and Portugal. ------------------------------------------------------------ -----------------------------------------------------------E lena has rich repertoire of Russian and Western European classical and modern music. In 2003, she gave a solo recital at the Glinka festival in Smolensk (Russia). In November 2004 Elena performed in a solo concert in London on the occasion of the opening of an exhibition of Russian Avant-garde ceramics at Somerset House. In 2000, the publishing house "TWIC" released her first set of solo recordings. In 2003 Elena recorded a CD with Sergey Rachmaninoff’s Second Piano Sonata, works by Bach and Ravel as well as the Fantasia "In Memory of S. Prokofiev" (2003), written by the pianist’s father. This CD at once has been placed on the biggest American Site devoted to the classical music: www.classicalarchives.com and the photo of Elena Kiseleva was situated on the title page of this site from February until middle of March 2004.------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------Since 2004 Elena’s been studying in the Royal Academy of Music in London on a full scholarship with Prof. Christopher Elton. She participated in Royal Academy of Music’s Paganini Festival in February 2006. In September 2006 she made her debut in Queen Elisabeth Hall as one of the pianists invited to perform the complete 24 Preludes and Fugues by D. Shostakovich during the 100th Anniversary of his birth Festival. ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ -------------------------------------In addition to performing she composes. She participated in numerous composition workshops including some taken by Sir Peter Maxwell Davies. Her composition teachers are Graham Williams and Ruth Byrchmore.Elena is currently playing recitals in England and Russia, completing her undergraduate course and expecting to take the Post Graduate Diploma over the next two years.
