Hello to all! My name is Brian D.B. I was born at Sharon General Hospital July 12th, 1973. I was raised in and around Youngstown Ohio.
I now reside in New Castle Pennsylvania along with my Fiance Rhonda, and Children.
My Musical influences are very rounded. I remember, as a child, listening to the bands that my Mother, my Aunt's, and my Uncle's had listened to. Bands like, The Beatles, John Cougar, Fleetwood mac, Van Halen, Journey, Queen, AC/DC, Nazereth, Black Sabbath, ZZ Top, Def Leppard, Pat Benatar, Billy Squire, The Scorpions Sammy Hagar, Loverboy, Joan Jett, Etc...
There had also been some other music floating around, such as, Waylon Jennings, Kenny Rogers, Barbara Streisand, Barbara Mandrell, Billy Ocean, Smokey Robinson, Lionell Ritchie, and some popular Motown of the time.
As I grew older, and began to find musical independence I looked toward the sounds of, Quiet Riot, Ratt, Ozzy, and still kept interest in the bands listed above.
The guitar genius of Randy Rhoads, and the musical prowess of Warren Demartini, simply blew me away! I had always, at a very young age, wanted to play drums. Although, after hearing such amazing guitar works of Randy & Warren... there was no longer any debate. I had to play guitar!
I began guitar lessons at the age of 10yrs. old. The lessons, and finger exercises were tedious, and after about a year, I no longer wanted bothered with actual lessons. Later in my teens, about 14-15 yrs. old, I began lessons again. At this point, I was instructed by Dave Lemasters. He had been in a regional favorite band called Left End. I was excited learning from him, because, at the end of a lesson, I would give him a tape of a song I wanted to learn and he would teach me a riff from it. This made me feel like i was advancing further than Twinkle twinkle little star! HA!
Anyway, also around the same age, a friend of a friend of someone's sister at some campground we were at... placed a tape into the boom-box, I was awestruck. I remember thinking that this music was way too heavy for me. The singer was a growling mess and the guitars were frantically fast. I had decided to borrow the tape anyway, and recorded it there on the spot. When I took it home, I couldn't help but keep listening. Kind of like rubberneckers slowing down to check out a car wreck... I had to listen to this. It beckoned me, it infected me, and a new favorite band was born. METALLICA!
My guitar playing took a whole new direction, and a new passion for playing had come about. I had to become a heavy metal / Hard Rock guitar player. And the rest is history.
