I was raised on the lake front in Chicago. My Dad had a boat so we went boating every day. I'm not kidding we even went in the winter. That must be when I fell in love with the water. Married young and moved to Texas for most of the 70's. I had three boys than got divorced. Stayed a couple years(because it was close to the golf)then decided to move back to Chicago. I knew when I came back here I wasn't going to stay long. It just wasn't the place for me and my boys. The winters were to cold and long. So I packed up the boys and moved to California. The central coast to be exact. Monterey that little piece of heaven I was fortunate to live in. Moved around a little, Pacific Grove,in the mountains fifteen miles back of Big Sur(we had to chop wood for heat). I finally settled in Carmel. I could see the ocean from my deck and did a lot of whale watching. I truly became one with nature. Hiking, camping, fishing and riding bikes was the life I lead. Turned my boys on to surfing so I always new where they were. Then the mountains. How I enjoyed the peace they brought me. This lasted for fourteen years until my mother got sick. Moved back. So here I am in the midwest. I still hope someday I'll move again. I love my family, but I still feel I don't belong here.
