Black Spy is a band from Helsinki, Finland. Their musical
style is based on guitar driven rock with shades of punk
and noise rock. In the beginning the band was trio consisting
Antti S on guitar and vocals, Antti V on bass guitar and Toke
on drums. In Summer 2007 they started rehearsing the
songs Antti S had written.After their first gig on April 2008 Antti S felt that they
needed to expand their lineup. In summer 2008 Antti's
friend Vesku told that he was interested in joining the band
as a guitarist. Band played their second gig as a trio in
Factory on July 2008 and soon after Vesku joined a band.
After only a few rehearsals the band played their third gig
(and the first as a quartet) on August 2008. By adding
another guitar (and vocals also) brought more noise and
guitar feedback to their sound but also more melodies and
thing someone might call a pop sensibility.In the end of the summer 2008 bassist Antti left the band
and was replaced by a friend of guitarists Antti and Vesku.
They started to rehearse old and also some new songs
with new bassist (whose name's also Antti) and the first
gig of the renewed band was on November 2008 in Club
Libérte, Helsinki.The current lineup is Antti S and Vesku on guitars &
vocals, Antti I on bass and Toke on drums. More gigs and
