About Me

Though named the House of Blues, this venue is known for hosting the most eclectic types of musical acts. Every genre from Rock, Hip-Hop, Country, to Jazz and Blues has equal playing time on the intimate House of Blues Stage. With a sign which is impossible to miss, the House of Blues on Sunset Strip is inevitably one of the most popular live music venues in Los Angeles.Thousands of people of all types flock to the House of Blues to catch their favorite bands and experience them up close. Most shows sell out, and the best seats are upstairs in the balcony area where you can avoid the large crowd and mosh pit. These seats however, along with the front row of the open mosh pit are the most coveted and filled way before the band gets on stage. This venue offers a pretty decent size dance floor/mosh pit with an elevated standing and sitting area all around. The fully loaded bar makes sure everyone is having a decent time all night long and the light shows are pretty good for such a small stage. The clubs VIP area for members only called the Foundation Room offers private rooms, a special dinner menu, monthly events and a concierge. The House of Blues on Sunset also boast The Porch, a Creole style restaurant where anyone from tourists, families, couples to young teenagers come for a delicious meal. It's not the best place to have a conversation when a band is performing because their sounds system is phenomenal, but the perk is bypassing the line outside and entrance to the concert venue right after dinner. The times and events vary from night to night, but on Sundays at 10am they host their world famous Gospel Brunch. This all-you-can-eat southern cuisine comes complete with a choir for the listening pleasure of guests. Those that are not early risers can catch the 1pm seating.

Live Nation, who recently bought HOB, is.Plans for a House of Blues in Washington, D.C. have met with some opposition, with detractors likening the House of Blues chain to national big-box chain stores such as Wal-Mart, Home Depot and Borders.[2]On January 29, 2008 The Boston Globe reported that Boston entertainment prince Patrick T. Lyons, in the midst of a multimillion-dollar renovation of his Lansdowne Street clubs behind Fenway Park, has sold them to the House of Blues chain. Boston's new House of Blues, with about 50,000 square feet, limited seating, and VIP boxes, would be unique. "Historically we have created these venues not to be cookie-cutter," says Aidan J. Scully, senior vice president of House of Blues development.
