About Me
Let's see.. I'm an all-around easy going person. I'm a little shy at first, but warm up quickly and love to make people laugh. I enjoy the outdoors and am game to take off exploring at the drop of a hat. Life is about seeing sights, going places, and doing things that you've never done before. I believe that all too often people forget to cherish and LIVE these experiences.
Photography has become a passion and important hobby of mine. I'm always experimenting with new techniques and love exploring new areas for inspiration. While I constantly strive to capture the essence of nature and those around me, a photo doesn't simply preserve an image; it conveys an artistic vision and can evoke powerful emotion. I admire so much of the work I see, and continue to pursue involvement of my own in local galleries and online photojournals as well.
On another note, everyone soon learns I'm more of a car nut than any other girl you're likely to meet. Though I have a '66 Mustang and an '06 Tiburon SE, my list of "dream cars" is ever-growing. I typically try to keep up on Formula One standings, and love the annual ride down to Monterey for the up-close MotoGP race at Laguna Seca. Essentially, if it has wheels and plenty of speed, you can count me in. Rain or shine, I typically spend at least one weekend a month traveling to raceways for road track events and I'm not above sweet-talking drivers for a chance to strap in beside them for a go, haha. My helmet always close at hand, I never pass up the opportunity to experience the "glue-me-to-the-seat" adrenaline rush I only get at the track. I love it!
I am and always have been a huge animal lover. On the homefront I have fish, a bird, and 2 cats I both raised from abandoned babies needing bottle feeding, on.. (so I'm very much "mommy" to these cuties who are now grown up. I must say, though a little furry, I've got some good-looking kids!). I volunteer at the local Feline Rescue, fostering kittens for them at times, and plan to help out at the baby bird nursery with the Sierra Wildlife Rescue this year as well.
Having been involved in the Solar Photovoltaic industry for years, I'm now pursuing a career as an Ultrasound Technician. Along the way, I hope to come by an opportunity to study abroad, as one of my goals in life is to travel the world. As of yet I haven't made it out of the country, though I've gotten an impressive start throughout the US. In the meantime, a favorite place of mine to wander to is San Francisco, where no matter how many times I comb the city there is always something new and interesting to do. On the flip-side, it's also the perfect place to find an empty dock where you can sit and do nothing at all; the ocean breeze blowing while you let the bustle of the world fade away.
In recent news, I've just joined a California Paranormal Investigation organization and can't wait to get out in the field. Skeptics or not, everyone ought to approach life and its mysteries with an open mind. Here goes nothin'!
