I'm 37, a purse-aholic (I have about 100 purses!!), love RUSH and reading horror books (Stephen King, Peter Straub), and "spy" books (Robert Ludlum and Joseph Finder). I love going to the mall with my nieces and nephews (one is on this site, too). Other than that I'm a Chicagoan and a die-hard Cubs fan and love everything Chicago!! I'm really just a huge nut with a great sense of humor. I love to laugh. Looks aren't important, but if you can have a conversation and make me laugh, hit me up!My most recent interest is with helping our world and the people in it. From Global Warming right down to the massacre that is Darfur, Sudan. Please visit the websites of some of my "Friends" to increase your awareness and learn how to aid in the fight.Wow - I scored as Dumbledore!! I'm honored!
You scored as Albus Dumbledore. Strong and powerful you admirably defend your world and your charges against those who would seek to harm them. However sometimes you can fail to do what you must because you care too much to cause suffering.

Your Harry Potter Alter Ego Is...?
created with QuizFarm.comForty percent of the people on our planet—more than 2.5 billion—now live in poverty, struggling to survive on less than $2 a day. Oxfam America (oxfamamerica.org) is an international relief and development organization working to change that. Together with individuals and local groups in more than 120 countries, Oxfam saves lives, helps people overcome poverty, and fights for social justice. Oxfam America is a founding member of the ONE campaign and the Make Trade Fair campaign.Angelina Jolie:"We can stop this, but only if government leaders make it a high priority. We know what is happening in Darfur. We know how to stop it."George Clooney:"Everyone has a good reason not to act...but the one thing we cannot do is turn our heads and look away.If we turn our heads and look away and hope that it will all disappear then they will - all of them, an entire generation of people. And we will have only history left to judge us."What You Can Do To HelpThere is PLENTY people can do to help this situation: - visit the website Genocide Intervention.net - visit the website Standnow.org - visit the website Save Darfur.org - S.T.A.N.D. is selling t-shirts for only ten dollars! By wearing a t-shirt you are helping raise awareness of this issue and the money you spend goes to an organization that is devoted to helping the suffering people in Darfur. There are many other items sold on this website such as hats, wristbands, DVDs, car magnets, etc. Merchandise that will support Darfur - You can buy bulks of t-shirts and sell them and donate the money. This would be a good idea for a school club, fundraiser, or if you just want to sell them to friends. If people see other people wearing these shirts many of them will want to learn more about what is going on in Sudan. Students Against Genocide.org - Go on the website www.savedarfur.org and fill out a postcard that is sent to President Bush on-line. The more people that send these cards, the more motivated Bush will be to do more. - Write a letter to Congress. It can be sent on-line and tips of what to write are given on the site: Democracy In Action.orgI absolutely urge you to at least buy a ten dollar t-shirt on www.savedarfur.org You may think it's so little that it's meaningless but it's not! If EVERYBODY does something little then it can turn into something big. In the end it's up to you to decide if you want to make any kind of difference in this horrifying situation.

As you read this, over 3 million people in Darfur, Sudan are crammed together in concentration camps, dying of disease and hunger, while government sponsored troops slaughter civilians, use rape to destroy group unity, and shoot children for sport. 400,000 men, women, and children are already dead. Entire races have been exterminated by the Sudanese government's campaign of ethnic cleansing.

Where is Darfur?
Darfur is a region in western Sudan, an eastern African country half the size of the United States

Why are people being killed?
Sudan is an Islamist Dictatorship controlled by Omar Al-Bashir. Bashir maintains control by ruthlessly crushing rebellion. When Ethnic African groups in Darfur started a war for independence, Bashir responded with a campaign of violence targeting civilians. He has used proxy militia groups to torch whole cities, rape and kill thousands of women and children.

"Using the Power of Networks to Save Lives"

We're a non-profit association of ordinary Americans who are using our unique talents and expertise to compete with powerful business lobbies and media interests in the fight for the lives of the world's poorest and least represented members. We don't have the money to buy million dollar television ads, so we must out-think (instead of out-spend) our larger and better funded opponents. We strive to adapt the most creative and effective means of reaching large numbers of people and convincing them to act to save the live of the millions of men, women, and children who die needlessly each year because of extreme poverty and genocide.
