Influences: In the beginning, it was ALL about Metallica. It was James Hetfield who inspired me to learn how to play guitar! Then it was Kirk Hammett who inspired me to learn lead guitar. Then I stumbled upon Joe Satriani and I was absolutely blown away at how awesome he was at lead guitar. So I started to learn some songs off Surfing With The Alien. I had huge trouble trying to learn the leads and so I gave up trying to learn that stuff because, at that particular time, my chops were nowhere near up to scratch. They still aren't! So then I just played along to what I knew I could do....METALLICA!!!
After Metallica, I guess my main influences, for guitar, are from Michael Amott and Christopher Amott from Arch Enemy. Also songwriting structures from Ola Frenning from Soilwork and Peter Wichers from ex Soilwork. Although I haven't really taken on their style, their music has really inspired me to write melodic leads and aggressive riffs.
Over the last 4 years I've really come into my own and I've been trying to redefine myself, not only as a player, but a songwriter. I've spent a really long time trying to establish my own style. Right now, I think I have attained this.
