Chris Sorbello

We've all had that moment when we sense that things are about to change. For Chris, born Christina Sorbello, that epiphany occurred as a high school junior in Brisbane.
"I remember being this 13 year-old girl, performing in low key variety shows around Brisbane week in week out and wondering where everything was going to lead – I just loved performing... music and performing was my passion.” Chris’s talent was identified at an early age and quickly became an integral part of one of Australia’s leading young talent nurturing groups “Australia’s Future Generation” which only acted to further hone her unquestionable talent.
Suddenly a near fatal car crash at the age of 16 years nearly ended Chris’s life – spending over 6 months recuperating allowed Chris the time to further evaluate her priorities as a growing teenager and the invaluable second chance that life had dealt her – Music was her passion and she now knew more than ever that the pursuit of a life within music was her single goal. “I learned that I could write songs at a young age and that is when my life changed. Realizing that writing songs was a powerful way to communicate was such a turning point in realizing my ambition - I finally had something to contribute, somewhere."
Fast forward to 2003 and the search commenced to broaden her musical horizons, Chris decided to relocate to Sydney. Mixing with a wide array of musical talent Chris managed to experiment with various musicians and styles performing live across Sydney venues whenever the opportunity arose, this eventually brought her in touch with exciting young writing and production team DNA.
Having recently signed a production deal with DNA Chris has been busily writing and recording new material which will eventually see the light of day sometime during 2008.
Chris takes elements of electronica beats - mashes it with pop sensibility and finally laces it all with a mesmerizing and distinctive sexy laid back vocal style... ...exciting, you bet! Original? It all comes down to the performance, delivery and style, and Chris has plenty to offer in all departments…
