I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

"This is the beginning of a new day. GOD HAS GIVEN ME THIS DAY TO DO AS I WILL. I CAN WASTE IT - OR USE IT FOR GOOD, but what I do today is important, because I am exchanging a day of my life for it! When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever, leaving in its place something that I have traded for it. I want it to be gain, and not loss; good, and not evil; success, and not failure; in order that I shall not regret the price that I have paid for it."
~Dr. Heartsill Wilson
I turn 30 on April 11, 2008
let's make it a night no one will forget
some people call me by my first name
my friends call me reese; you can, too.
much more appealing, you see
i have a good sense of humor
laughter is essential...every day
Madison is the most important human being in my life. Don't mess with her and you get to live. Deal? Deal. :)
please don't make the mistake of thinking you can dictate such personal decisions as how i drive, how i dress, what i do, who i date, or how i live.
i shall cheerfully ignore you.
i love my moma
my parents were married for nearly 48 years
I miss my daddy
my family means everything to me
i have friends who are just like family
i like to travel, but there's no place like home
i can drive a stick shift
crime doesn't pay, but at least i look good in stripes
Ooooo. Wouldn't "detention center orange" make a good Crayola color?
i am pretty random sometimes
you know those counterfeit detection pens? the ones they use at your local convenience store to mark any bill larger than a five to make sure it's legit? don't you wish someone would invent those for use on people?
I believe in myself
i admire originality
i enjoy the History channel
VH1, The Food Network, A&E, too
i love words, literature, music, and art
i recently changed my favorite color to red. it used to be purple.
just the thought of misspelled words makes me cringe; There are probably some on this page right now. *cringe*
a cliché, i know, but i actually AM one of the nicest people you'll ever meet.
i know the precise location of Shit Creek. indeed, i've been stranded there many times. often without a paddle; sometimes without a canoe.
i wouldn't have lasted one day as a slave. Maybe I could have been a house Negro. I said, "MAYBE." I harbor my doubts.
i have immeasureable respect for my ancestors, though. for real.
should you stumble across my mastery of sarcasm...well, my daddy was a smart ass. my moma is a smart ass. my moma’s moma was a smart ass...you get the picture, right? sorry folks, but there’s just not a whole lot I can do about genetics.
i'm a flirt. you can find that trait on my 43rd chromosome. again, not my fault.
i love stand-up comedy. if you're actually funny.
life is a gift. Period.
i am obsessed with music
i love Thai food. like, really, i’m in love with it.
my favorite ninja turtle is Donatello
i try to forgive and forget and not hate anyone; however, i do feel there are certain people you’re allowed to dislike as much as you want.
i'm allergic to liars. it's a documented medical condition.
If you've repetitively lied to me, and I no longer speak to you...sorry...doctor's orders. She says avoiding you is what is best for my health.
I say it's what's best for yours.
i learned fairly early that Santa wasn’t real, but i believed in the Tooth Fairy for a good two or three years after i found out "Santa Claus" was really my hardworking parents.
i was pretty devestated to learn that the Tooth Fairy wasn't real. i can't believe my family allowed me to believe for all those years that some beautiful, winged, woman with a wand flew into my room at night every time i lost a tooth, when all the while it was my older brother, John, sneaking into my room and leaving coins in a matchbox under my pillow. the nerve!
dude. i thought the Keebler elves were real! i used to look in the trees in our yard for them, too. i had this grand plan that i would hold 'em hostage and make 'em make me all the Rainbow Chips Deluxe i wanted! Muah hahahaha! -----[evil laugh]
hey. don't ask me. I was just a kid.
i dig my iPod
I am pro-Life.
LCD t.v.’s are not overrated.
i'm extremely open-minded and nonjudgmental; everyone else should be too. Seriously.
If you’re into slam poetry, spoken word poetry, Pulitzer-prize winning literature, history, music, art, teaching, learning, coffee houses, hot tea, bookstores, guitars, drums, the Indigo Girls, Melissa Etheridge, Indie record labels (and their artists, of course), BMX bike tricks, skateboarding, whitewater rafting, jet skiing, water skiing, surfing, or snowboarding; or if you can cook, you’ve already won a place in my heart.
i like to sleep on my right side.
i drive pretty fast sometimes, so you might want to wear your seatbelt.
besides, it's the law.
but fear not; God is my co-pilot.
chocolate is wonderful
I'm a true southerner...sweet tea, fried chicken, collard greens, fat back, southern accent (sometimes), the works. Yes, this means I say "Yes, ma’am" and "No, sir"; and yes, ma'am, I do hold the door open for you.
i'm still friends with most of my exes
heck, i have friends who are exes' exes
i'll probably get along with you, too
if you know what castor oil is, what it's used for, and were forced to take it as a kid, we already have 3 things in common.
i'm all about the outdoors with the right people...camping, climbing, caving...you name it.
i love the mountains
i dislike stereotypes. everyone is different, period.
i'm not a Republican or a Democrat. i can think for myself, thank you very much.
i was just b-s-ing. i'm a Democrat. and after the last 8 years, you should be, too!
but i was serious about the thinking for myself part.
Bill O’Reilly really gets on my last nerve - PLUS the nerves I have in reserve.
i try to think before i speak, and i freely acknowledge when i've reversed that order
i’m a little bit country. i’m a little bit rock and roll.
i'm a sucker for a live concert in a small venue
imagination is a great and dangerous thing to have
i like Ethan Allen
i like to wear what looks good and is comfortable – if it’s a name brand, fine. If not, that’s fine, too. i’m not really a label whore, but in most instances, quality does come with a higher price.
you get what you pay for
Saved by the Bell, 2-2-7, Good Times, What’s Happening and almost anything on Nickolodeon can pretty much explain what I did in elementary and middle school.
I'm very much in love...with Life.
my eye color can change depending on the mood I am in
i dislike losing, but I’m not a sore loser
i like the road less traveled.
I'm very indecisive. Sometimes.
i like Star Wars: Voyager.
My favorite authors when I was in elementary school were
Beverly Cleary and Judy Blume.
A Confederacy of Dunces, The Color Purple, The Bluest Eye, Rubyfruit Jungle, and Stone Butch Blues
are the top five books of fiction ever written.
I don't even mind if you disagree; that lets me know you read.
pro sports used to be enjoyable to watch until the pro-athletes started striking and whining about making $10 million instead of $10.1 million.
i won’t even mention the steroids scandal.
i’ll take college football over the NFL anyday. well, anyday except Super Bowl Sunday.
there’s usually an exception to every rule
i sometimes drink beer, but i'd rather have Crown&Coke
TheraFlu should be in the same category as alcohol
Flintstone Vitamins, Orange Tic-Tacs, Ludent's Cherry Cough Drops...I know you’ve eaten all of them at some point or another.
i don’t have a quick temper; i can take a lot.
i love the rain, and i like the snow.
i usually trip going up the stairs. and down the stairs.
there’s a time and a place to eat healthy foods, but nothing can beat a Michelob Light, a good burger, and fries every once in awhile.
Westville Pub is the shiznit.
Ditto that for Downtown Asheville.
it’s almost impossible for me to be too hot; i am very cold-natured.
i like walking barefoot on the grass. or the sand. i love wearing flip-flops, too.
i love warm weather. i love springtime. i love the sunshine; she’s my fourth cousin.
the first time I see a bumble bee marks the official beginning of spring for me.
i don’t put too many boundaries on love and attraction. i'm sorry if you do.
without music, i would probably wither away.
i love Broadway. yes, the Broadway in NYC.
i'm a Clemson Tigers sports fanatic.
i spent many a year and plenty o' money at Clemson University. of course, i spent a lot of time at Tiger Town Tavern, too, but that's another story.
i’m definitely a dog person
crab legs with hot, melted butter are pretty much an orgasm in the food industry. ditto that for lobster tail.
Mr. T and the A-Team were awesome when i was a kid
don’t act like you don’t remember the Incredible Hulk, Cabbage Patch Kids, G.I. Joe, Punky Brewster, Garbage Pail Kids, Knight Rider, Sledge Hammer, Murder She Wrote, Mr. Belvedere, Full House, Gimme A Break, What's Happening Now, The Jeffersons or Jim Henson’s Muppet Babies, either.
i don't like Goldschlager. all pretty packaging and the promise of gold from outside looking in, but once you get past the initial glitter, it’s pretty bitter on the inside. hmmm...actually, that sounds like a few people i know.
there are plenty of faults and flaws i'm willing to deal with in relationships and friendships-and i pray you return the favor-but i'm done dealing with other people's lies and bullshit.
PERIOD.
hate mail can be directed to my attention and sent to [email protected].
and please, make it interesting; for boredom is a communicable disease.
but i bet you will love me. i probably already love you. :)
You Are 5: The Investigator
You're independent - and a logical, analytical thinker.
You love learning and ideas and know things no one else does, but you refuse to lord your knowledge over others.
Bored by small talk, you absolutely refuse to participate in boring conversations.
You are open-minded. A visionary. You understand the world and may change it.
At Your Best: You are sharp, inventive, patient, perceptive, diplomatic, caring, and creative. You have the skills to lead the world.
At Your Worst: You are reclusive, aloof, and a bit paranoid.
Other Number 5's: Bill Gates, John Lennon, Kurt Cobain, Bjork, and Stephen Hawking.
What Number Are You?

"One day in 1968, Jane Elliot, a teacher in a small, all-white Iowa town, divided her third grade class into blue-eyed and brown-eyed groups and gave them a daring lesson in discrimination. This is the story of that lesson, its lasting impact on the children, and its enduring power thirty years later."
