Influences: Don Dixon, Jim Brock (that’s the hands-on part right there) Kenny Vaughan and Mitch Easter (wish I thought I’d ever play guitar like them), Chris Frank for musical polymathy, John Fahey, Neil Young, Earl Scruggs, Rosanne Cash, Doc Watson, Brian Eno,Etta Baker, Bill Bottrell, Frank Proffit,Tom Waits, Leadbelly, Aimee Mann, Elvis Costello, Uncle Dave Macon, J.J. Cale, Bob Dylan, Dick Annegarn, Josh White, Jason Izbell, John Hurt, John Hartford, Gregg Allman, Steve Earle, Peter Blegvad, Mother Maybelle Carter, Bonnie Raitt.... just to name a few...
Sounds Like: nothing you ever heard but better (is what we’d like to think!) DIXON once called it poetry rock, but we think he meant it as a compliment. Seriously now, the music runs the spectrum from blues-rock to ballads, but with a couple of unexpected unsuspected twists in between...
