SmashingPorcelinaAfter dying so many times that death as a word isn..t enough to describe what..s happening to the modern day hiphopscene, a few creative acts today has morphed into something new by combining elements containing extracts of music and sound from the other side of the other side of used inspiration, to make hiphop interesting and alive again. This time the music has stepped up a few levels into something that may not fit the masses, but challenges the listener in a way that we have..nt seen since the early 90..s, and in doing so adding a beat machinery that makes the unaware listener confused..In the year 2007 the group ORTHO ACUSTO was formed by prosperous and pelpa karnaval, all out of big ambitions to make something DOPE with full respect for eachothers creative ideas all straining towards the darker corners of musicmaking, not giving a fuck about economical achievements or expectations from surroundings, since they both have a past of making experimental hiphop, with or against all odds.To make a long story short, the lyrical outcome is made by PROSPEROUS from Gothenburg in Sweden, who has a history as a rap artist that goes back to the early/mid 90..s when groups like the pharcyde and freestyle fellowship etc.. inspired him to flow eventhough there were..nt really any other groups or crews active to mention where he grew up, wich made him discover the unrestricted freedom of making something of a change where there..s no competition. Together with Porter and Fabsoul he formed a group called Plant of Trails that released and participated in a few rare casettes and cd..s that people in sweden thought was to wierd.. (at this point eastcoast hiphop and expressions like "keep it real" ruled the scandinavian hiphopculture), wich made plant of trails even more trigged to experiment in provocative ways later on, since their aim wasn..t following the leader or giving praise to idols by duplicating their styles. In 1999 a young extremely talanted emcee called Nadasdi came along and formed a new group together with prosperous and porter called Assimilated, that opened up sweden..s ears for something they hadn..t yet heard and took these unknown members to unexpected stages and shows eventhough they only had a few songs done.The members slightly simultanious move to gothenburg ended up in a few years of serious musicmaking, self suffering and many releases, now also under the new crewname CEREBRAL FOBIA wich welcomed more acts, like Smea, Rodan Olonaise, Peshi and later on Misto Soon etc, this were the tape releases that gave the people the chance to hear both Rodan and Peshi recorded for the first time, and all in ultralimited editions by Smea..s own label TE.RECS. Prosperous had finally created his own hiphopworld and lived only for the music, got hooked up by IDEAL records in 2004 and released his 5th solorelease, the vinyl album COMB & PROSPEROUS - TWO OF A KIND, that contained extreme hiphop that sounded like something that should be on an underground tape.
At this point the world slowly opened up it..s eyes for this underground creation wich soon resulted in a few collaborations with overseas artists, mostly from California. The swedish label 247 records did, together with prosperous.. after a few successful releases and eyes kept on prosperous proceedings, decide to do something new and combine these swedish acts with some of the Los Angeles heavier underground artists to release the risky compilation album AMPHIBIAN SWAP, with artists like ORKO ELOHEEM, ODESSA KANE, OMID,EXISTEREO among others. In 2006 the sequal came called TROPICZONE SWAP, same concept but with more artists..ABSTRACT RUDE, RADIOINACTIVE, SUBTITLE,NOCANDO,ELLAY KHULE,PARANORML,DIE YOUNG etc..Thanks to these compilations, PELPA KARNAVAL from France who was completely unknown to prosperous, got in touch with him and had plenty of beats that became the foundation for ortho acusto. Pelpa is also a talented graphic designer who..s made arts for THAVIUS BECK, CANDY..S 22 and GEL ROC among others, so ortho acusto is also a visual happening. Pelpa..s versatile style made prosperous wake up again lyrically from a year of keeping low profile after recently becoming a dad, but today we..ve just seen the start of this group..s awakening that has a lot to offer the future.
