About Me
Just because you've never heard of Danny Sadistic, don't think that he's new to the game. He began his journey over a decade ago, writing his first rhyme at the age of 15. "The raps I wrote back then were some pretty fucked up shit for someone my age to be writing. I got in a lot of trouble for it, and that definitely made me want to pursue it further," says the now 26-year-old Sadistic.
Danny Sadistic spent those first few years just writing and practicing his flow, trying to find his style. After numerous name changes, he finally settled on one, and in 2001, he recorded a 7-track EP entitled Just the Beginning, under the alias True Red. It was never released, and the recording was followed by several failed attempts to start a group, which led to Sadistic stepping away from the mic.
Fast forward to 2004. While working on what was to be his first album under the name Danny Sadistic, he met Georgo, who at the time was in a group called the Thug Mobb Family. The two began collaborating on tracks for Sadistic's album. Soon after, Georgo brought in One/Eighth and Fokus (both from TMF), and Asylum Of Darkness was born.
At this point, the songs done for Sadistic's album were re-recorded and became Asylum Of Darkness songs. During the recording of their first album, Fokus left the group for personal reasons. AOD released their debut album, Step into the Asylum, on March 29, 2005. The disc was carried in a couple local record stores and was well received in its limited availability. Following the release, AOD opened shows for Tech N9ne, Esham, and Blaze Ya Dead Homie to name a few. October 25, 2005 saw the release of AOD's second album, Lurking in the Shadows, which was available for free download on their website and was also handed out free at shows.
Sadistic and company decided to change direction for their third (and as it stands now, final) album, Prelude 2 Disaster. With Prelude, the group began to experiment with more of a mainstream sound. Problems within the group delayed recording, and while the album was ultimately finished, it never saw release due to the group calling it quits.
This brings us to 2008. After a year long hiatus following the demise of AOD, the time was right for Danny Sadistic to get back to what comes naturally to him, the wicked shit. Signing with Blood Rain Entertainment in May, and with the release of Back on the Attack in June, Danny Sadistic let it be known that he was ready to emerge as a force to be reckoned with in the underground.
Sadistic is currently working on material for his upcoming full-length album, Crimson Minded, which is set to be released summer 2009.
