About Me

Multi Instrumentalist and Singer/Songwriter Simon Scott.From an early age Simon took up the Guitar and by the age of fifteen was gigging regularly in London and the south east as a bass player / backing vocalist. He later became lead vocalist and guitarist of another band where he began writing his own material. It was at this point that he began a B Tec in music at Stoke - On – Trent College studying guitar, singing, trumpet and keyboards.Simon’s Developing interest in world music then took him onto study a degree at Dartington College of Arts Devon, which introduced him to many musicians from around the world and opened up a multitude of different styles; Ghanaian drumming, West African guitar, European Folk to name but a few. Whilst at college Simon formed various bands and played extensively in Devon and Cornwall’s Pubs, Clubs and Festivals. He also performed at Acoustic Venues in London.Simon’s music is a mix of folk, Rock, Jazz and Funk incorporating all the influences he has taken in over the years, citing dadgad, open d and open c as some of his favourite tunings.Simon is a guitar tutor working in schools and colleges, he also teaches privately on a one to one basis.
